Hi! I'm Maria Shelton, mom of two, with one of my kids getting ready to start as an incoming freshman. I've been involved with the PTA/PTSA ever since my oldest started kindergarten, and volunteering has become something I truly enjoy. Over the years, I've loved finding ways to support our students, teachers, and school community. Whether it's helping at events, volunteering behind the scenes, or working alongside other parents, I believe that when families get involved, it makes a real difference. I'm excited to continue serving the school community by being a part of Freedom's Parent Club and look forward to helping make this school year a positive and memorable one for all of our students and families.

I began volunteering with the Parents Club in 2024 as a Grad Nite volunteer, supporting fundraising efforts and helping organize activities to create a memorable event for graduating seniors. Over the past two years, I have served as Treasurer of the Parents Club, where I manage finances, maintain accurate records, and ensure transparency in all financial activities. In this role, I help oversee fundraising efforts, track budgets, and support events that benefit students and the school community. I have dedicated my time to this effort because I believe families in our community deserve to feel connected to—and proud of—their local high school, its students, and its faculty. My goal has always been to help strengthen that sense of community and support the experiences that make high school meaningful for our students.
